You can still create an RPG IV "utility" program
that accepts the times as input parameters and calculates the difference for
you. Then call this utility program dynamically from your RPG/400 program(s).
It would help if you could be a bit more specific
for us. Do you need to calculate elapsed time across date boundaries, or is it
always for a single day?
Within which environment do you need to perform
these calculations (ie: RPG/400.. RPG IV.. CL... Query.. etc.)?
To what precision would you like the elapsed
time returned as? Hours/Min/Seconds or rounded off?
