If it is in the QDLS file system, the answer is around 324,000. These wil exist in QDOC. There is a workaround, the limit is per Auxilary Storage Pool (ASP). If you define a QDOC0001 in ASP2, and a QDOC0002 in ASP3, etc... each QDOCxxxx will contain up to approx 324,000 documents.
