that could be said for much of the "classic" AS/400 stuff that IBM is
trying to get everybody off. You know: you have to move to Java,
SQL, and such like. If all the old stuff were "open-source" IBM would
get rid of a major maintenance headache. But IT IS NOT GOING
TO HAPPEN, because IBM also has this problem with CONTROL.
One wouldn't like to lose control over software, just look at what
happened to the PC.
