I suppose the first word could be "it" as in "It could hurt."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can hurt.  For large tables, even without SMP Query, it may decide to
perform table scans using multiple disk reader threads.  This can get pretty
exciting.  It is also exciting to debug.
Subject: QqryDegree system value
I have read just about everything I can get my hands on and cannot grasp
the right answer.
In order for you to be able to utilize this system value, or in CHGQRYA, do
you NEED to
have SMP installed on the system?
My take is that if you don't have SMP installed then setting this value to
*optimize cannot hurt.
I am dealing with a 4 way 730.
