Thanks, Buck, I feel a little better >- I'm always reluctant to contradict Al, because usually >even when I think he's wrong he isn't. He may not be _quite_ wrong on this one, either. The marketing/product naming folks at IBM have made it darned near impossible to keep the various offerings straight. If you want to use the STRQM command, you need 5769ST1-DB2 Query Mgr and SQL DevKit for AS/400. This gives you STRQM, STRSQL and embedded SQL development support. The darned names are goofy. Query Manager vs Query Management Query. Hmpf. Anybody on any AS/400 (including the CICS machines!) can use SEU to enter SQL source into QQMQRYSRC, compile and run it. Here's a working sample for those following along: strseu qqmqrysrc syscolqm SELECT SYS_DNAME,SYS_TNAME,SYS_CNAME FROM SYSCOLUMNS WHERE NAME LIKE &SEARCH ORDER BY 3,1,2 crtqmqry yourlib/syscolqm strqmqry yourlib/syscolqm setvar((search '''SRCSEQ''')) Buck Calabro Aptis; Albany, NY "We are what we repeatedly do.
