QMQRY is part of the OS/400 base.  I use it all over the place to execute
SQL statements, whether or not the SQL development Kit is installed.  I have
a command-line SQL utility that I use that is based upon parameters in
QMQRYs  (Was originally from Midrange Computing.)  My last shop wouldn't
spring for the development kit so I had to improvise a bit...
