>As I understand it, Microsoft moved off their 23 AS/400 to 1600 NT servers, >and only lasted on NT for a short period of time. They then outsourced >their IT to another company that just happens to have 23 AS/400's! >Al I corresponded with a person that works for a service bureau in Atlanta that uses AS/400's and their customer was MS. Also, I did a class in Seattle and was talking to one of the students and he used to work for MS, He worked on the Conversion from AS/400's to NT(DB2/400 to SQL Server). MS wanted to put some DB constraints in their DB(either referential or check constraints) and when trying apply them during the "Sync-up" phase, it ran for 3 days trying just to get a sync point. They had to stop, NT couldn't catch up to get a valid sync point. They gave up trying to apply the constraint. The AS/400 didn't have any problem with the volume of the data, but with NT SQL server they have to run without constraints!
