The QLANGID wont do you any good. This will need to be handle by programming. They are several way of doing this, I will try to explain how we dot it. In the customer file, there is a code that state the language to use for that customer. For the constant part of the invoices (logo ...) we use *OVERLAY. We have one overlay per language and we override the printer file with the correct one depending on the customer language (this imply that the printer file is user open). If some part of the invoice cannot be part of the overlay, we use a variable and in the RPG, we retreive from a message file the value in the correct language. Also, all are master files (product, shipping condition ...) support mutilingual description. We just extract the description in the customer language before printing. Hope this help Denis Robitaille Directeur services techniques Cascades Inc 819 363 5187 fax 819 363 5177 >>> drasch@mail.win.org 06/29/00 11:45am >>> I just had a customer call with an interesting problem. He prints invoices that are mailed to various parts of the world, and wants them in Spanish, French and English depending on the customer. I told him I was aware of only the QLANGID, which is system-wide. What is the preferred method of changing languages mid-stream in a job? Is it just to change QLANGID back and forth? This really seems a bit too simple...
