I believe I heard 'them' say, at the Las Vegas AS/400 tech conference, no
more enhancements to DDS -- because we now have every known data type.
Nothing left for 'them' to do.  :-)

Can't say that I've heard that one.  I would think that that would have to
be qualified by the statement "DDS for database objects", since alternatives
for display files are not well disseminated, and for external print files
are non-existent.

I would be surprised to hear that they're actually dropping support for it.
I would NOT be surprised if they said "no new enhancements".
