Thanks to Al Barsa for starting this thread.

Here's something I heard last Wednesday (6/21/00) from an IBMer
who was giving an overview of what's new in OS/400 and what's coming.

I might not have the figures _exactly_ right, but I think I'm close.

Apparently the new high-end AS/400 is rated at 2,300 interactive CPW.

The high-end S/390 is at 1,400 CPW.

Wow!  The Midrange just became the Mainframe!

Flips and somersaults!

Maybe Armonk will finally notice what's going on?
