Terry:
The job will actually run in the QSYSWRK subsystem, under the job name
QTFTPxxxxx.  These are the FTP server jobs.  You probably have more than one
running and will need to check the job log of each job,  You should be able
to see some sort of message in the job log to help you along.

I am calling a program using quote rcmd from my PC during an FTP Session and
after about a minute, it comes back with the message "Connection closed by
remote host" and the program either did not start or got some kind of error.
How can I find out what the problem is?
