Yes there is a limit to the size of a data queue. 2500 x 592 = 1,480,000. Now add the other information such as sender ID, 44 char, Key etc and you will get the real length of the data queue. We use a size of 2000 in an unkeyed data queue and our magic number is 8208 records before the object overflow. Once a data queue reaches it allocated space it tries to grow enough to handle a another block of entries. If the space required to add the next block exceeds the max object size for data queues you run into the over flow error. Two solutions: 1. Reduce the max entry size on creation of the data queue to what you really need. If you never put more than 1000 bytes in an entry, make that the max size. Also do you really need sender ID? 2. Can you start more processes to pull entries off the data queue so you don't fall so far behind? If you have a program that wakes up and processes the entries then sleeps when all done, shorten the sleep time. Christopher K. It is on a DTAQ.. The message is CPF950A (Storage limit exceeded for data queue ....) This software has been running for 4 1/2 years at over 300+ customer sites, and this is the first time I have ever seen this problem... Is there a storage limit for a data queue?? I can't seem to find it.. Some details: The data queue is keyed, with a record length of 2500.. There appeared to be 592 entries in the data queue before it died.. The data queue gets recreated almost daily... The machine it is running on is at V4R3.. I can't recreate this on my own AS/400, and am really stumped TIA.
