Jacob -- There are DDS keywords for graphics and I believe image handling. To make this work I think you will need OS/400 option 14 (GDDM). If GDDM is used the PC needs an emulator capable of supporting a 5292 model 2 data stream. That support was in the DOS clients of "IBM AS/400 Client Access Family" product number 5769-XY1. My AS/400 handbook indicates that 5769-XY1 was withdrawn from marketing effective 25 Feb 2000. I know from experience that the DOS clients were the only IBM supplied clients that supported this function -- and they required DOS device drivers (supplied as part of the emulation code) to get the graphics emulation to work. The installation required manually downloading the correct drivers to the PC and setting up the PC correctly. This is a real RTFM -- "read the fine manual" -- and follow it to the letter! I did get the DOS client (not the DOS extended client) to work with graphics under Windows 3.1 and OS/2 but it was a real trick and took a couple of detailed red-books! IBM did not include 5292-2 support in their Windows based clients. I don't recall seeing this support in other vendors Windows based emulators (but if there is one out there I'd like to hear about it! Heck it would be interesting if there is a JAVA or Linix based emulator out there with graphics support!). Also be warned that the AS/400 GDDM implementation was aimed mostly at vector graphics, not scanned images. IBM has a fixed function display (the 3489) that included some image support (fax/image viewing). I don't know if there is a third party Windows emulator that added that support. (Again, would be interested to hear if there is one out there!) > -----Original Message----- > From: Jacob Christiansen [mailto:jacob.christiansen@technocrats.co.uk] > > Hi All > > Does anyone know how to display graphics via a AS400 Display file.
