Try changing the timeout to zero.  This will disable it.

But - what have you got between the AS/400 and the internal network?  There
may be a timeout feature on that firewall that's dropping the connection.
Sometimes, the keep-alive packets only make it from the AS/400 to the
proxy/firewall and never get to the client.
