My apologies in advance if someone has already answered this question ... Unfortunately I do not have any answers - I just have some information that may lead to an answer. There is only one QMS printer listed in the documentation I found on the IBM web site (document no. 17690939 - Support for Various Printers in Host Print Transform (HPT), PC5250, and so on). It is the QMS Magicolor. The documentation states that this printer will not handle HP's Printer Job Language (PJL), and therefore cannot be setup as a *LAN 3812 printer device (i.e. and device description with an IP address). However, the document does state that this printer can be set up as a remote outqueue using *HPCOLOR for the Manufacturer Type and Model (MFRTYPMDL on the CRTOUTQ command). The two printers may be totally different - I have never heard of either. You might try pulling up this document and look for a printer that resembles yours and try the suggested MFRTYPMDL on the CRTOUTQ command. Be blessed, Todd Kidwell (Netstar) AS/400 System Administrator >>> "Carlos Almeida" <Carlos_Almeida@mail.quatrosi.pt> 05/04/00 01:28PM >>> Hi, I have a QMS 2060 Print System with a Ethernet Port in a AS400 ( V4 r4 )environement. We use the TCP/IP protocol with a static IP as the default printing system. In an NT Environement we dont have any kind of problems in sending print jobs to the printer. We need to use the Write ( devprt ) of AS400 to set up this printer, but this is not possible with any of the emulation modes supported b this printer. We tried the OUTQUEUE mode with several emulations of the printer, and all that we have managed to accomplish is a poor printing page with margins problems. My question is : Is this Printer compatible with AS400 system ? If so, how can i set up the printer using Write ( DEVPRT ) mode of the AS400 system.
