Actually you can RTVSPLFA to get the job information and save it in a file
with the spool file data. I have never tried to re-create the spool file
and force the saved job attributes though, but you can save them. You can
then inquire into your newly created data base of saved spool files, find
the one you want and re-create the spool file. You just get attributes of
the job re-creating the spool file. Not an exact duplicate but still used
the job attributes to find and recreate.

At 09:02 AM 3/28/00 +0100, you wrote:

The spool design on the AS/400 does not allow for the restore of
attributes. Spooled files DO NOT live in output queues (despite what you
might think). Jobs own spooled files, and those jobs point to members in
the QSPL library.

When you "save" the spooled files, you save the spooled file data. When
you "restore" those spooled files, the system does not know the owner, or
job information, etc. of that data, and it CANNOT be replicated.
