The Net.Data macro will only have a performance impact if the SQL is
written poorly.  You also have to make sure the memory pool where the
Websphere server is running has sufficient activity level and memory to
support the activity levels.. It will use as many as 60 threads to start up
and periodically use that many depending on what else is going on.  In my
experience that is where the performance hit is, bad tuning and bad SQL.
The operating system can make up for bad code, not even OS/400.

Test the SQL statements with debug turned on and check the job logs for
messages to tune the SQL.  See other threads in the archive for tips on
that topic.
