Pat --

WHAT?

You lost me.

What do you mean when you say "I think News/400 has lost a lot of it's
direction...." ????

Can you be more specific? I, personally, find News 400 excellent and it has
a lot of value to me.

I sincerely mean, this, Pat? What DO you mean? You mention News 400 and
Search400, but they aren't related.

Again ... you lost me.

I did in fact purchase the CDROM a couple years back to reduce space in
my office, but the CDROM was done so badly, it was of little use to me
or anybody else. I was told a new and improved version was coming but I
never saw it. Did anybody else ????

I think News/400 has lost a lot of it's direction....
and I think the following speaks volumes about what is really going on:

IBM DEFENDS ITSELF AGAINST KEYNOTE REMARKS THAT IT HAS FAILED AS/400
USERS (SEARCH400.COM)
A heated keynote address slamming IBM for making it difficult for AS/400
users to transition to e-business kicked off the 79th Common user group
conference in San Diego on Sunday. IBM defended its positioning of the
AS/400 the next day during a keynote saying bad press, not IBM, is to
blame for the AS/400's identity crisis.
