huh? Security by obscurity isn't really useful. Besides, these commands are hardly obscure. They are so common that housewives and students have been using them for years in their bbs and internet surfing in the local library computer labs. FTP, finger, talk, ping, telnet, and pine are a lot more commonly known than you might suppose. _______________________ Booth Martin boothm@earth.goddard.edu http://www.spy.net/~booth _______________________ "Richard J. Doesn't this outline, step-by-step, how to "backdoor" an AS/400 from a PC? Perhaps a bit more discretion and security awareness should be exercised before posting something like this? I would test by going to Start, Programs, MS Dos command prompt and doing the following: > ftp your400 > dir > cd yourlib if this is necessary then this might explain why ftp://xxx.xx.xxx.xx/filetodownload doesn't work. > dir > get thefile > > If that fails write down the error you are getting. You might have to debug your exit point program. Simple enough using STRSRVJOB and stuff. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
