The Model 150 is a good value if you don't mind being treated by IBM as the "step child" of the AS/400 family. The 150 is excluded from the Software Subscription Program so you'll pay for every OS upgrade. Read the fine print very carefully. IBM has gotten better about disclosure, but two years ago when I purchased a 150, there was absolutely no disclosure from IBM that Model150 owners would be treated any differently from owners of any of their other boxes. IBM doesn't even (or at least they didn't at that time) keep Model 150 customers in their data base of AS/400 owners. On the plus side, the software license(s) transfer along with the Model 150 (and I believe many of the other newer models), so there are no additional licensing fees as there would be for older systems.
