This is all IMO.

He just answered the question.  The original question asked, specifically,
for "a good product for data mining on the as400".  Are you suggesting
the merchant shouldn't of answered his question?

Are you, by any chance, the person you speak of when you mention
"...a recruiter wanders in and offers a perfectly legitimate AS/400 Job
opportunity..."???
