  • Subject: HIPER and Y2K PTFs

More on PTFs, this time on the HIPER and PTFs. I am on V4R3. Already got the
regular CUM PTFs done - PTF number SF99430.

Ordered the HIPER (SF99092) and the Y2K (SF99200) PTFs. Got the CDs and
there were no instructions included in the package. Both shipments did have
sheets listing the PTFs, but that's all.

So, checked out the manual "Basic System Operation, Administration, and
Problem Handling", and also some notes from a session I attended at COMMON.
Still confused. Can anyone tell me if I've done the right steps? If so, I'll
go ahead and do the same thing with the Y2K PTFs. What I did for HIPER was:

Put CD for HIPER into CD drive.
LODPTF
   Product 5769999
   Device OPT01
   PTF numbers *ALL
   Copy PTF cover letter *YES

Repeat using different product numbers - I got these from the right hand
column of the PTF sheet that came with the CD. Several times I got a message
"No PTFs loaded". Read the Help, and figured that's okay, I probably don't
have that particular item on my machine.

Then WRKMBRPDM. File QAPZCOVER, Library QGPL. Only a few members in there -
this worries me. Shouldn't there be more? Did I do something wrong in
earlier steps?

Displayed the few cover letters there, and checked for prerequisites. None.

Then on PTF menu, used Option 2 Apply PTFs. Press Enter. This took only a
couple of minutes.

Now, is IPL the only thing I have left to do to complete the HIPER PTFs? Am
I missing something else?
