First of all, I have no external DASD.  My systems are all 170's, a 40S and 
a 20S.

Secondly, software systems develop over time.  Our software developed in an 
environment where we paid for power, and basically, I'm cheap.  Our evening 
routine call for SAVALLCHG (a slightly better implementation of SAVCHGOBJ 
in TAATOOL), CHGPWRSCDE *TODAY (because the Operational Assistant 
components do not take cognizance of the PWRDWNSYS command [doh], and then 
PWRDWNSYS *IMMED.  The systems do a timed IPL daily.
