RE: automatically downloaded PTFs

I believe this is a process controlled by IBM's Service Director.

You can change the service director settings using the CHGSD command.

This parameter looks promising....

 Automatic PTF monitor:           AUTOPTF                 
   Schedule day . . . . . . . . .                *SUN     
   Download PTFs  . . . . . . . .                *YES     

I'd try changing "Download PTFs" to *NO...

BTW....we haven't had too much trouble from Y2k....hope the rest of you are

lucky...most of our problems were due to people powering down for the first
time
(don't ask me why they haven't done so before).
