"window  interface" when the whole thing came from the Palo Alto Research
project...>

To be fair to Apple - if I remember correctly, they were clear from the outset
that they were trying to prevent MS from claiming rights to the idea. They had
always acknowledged the debt that the Lisa design owed to the Xerox Star system.
MS on the other hand ........
