FYI. After working with IBM supportline, we found a bug with the system value QMAXSIGN and NetServer. In order to enter a different password and successfully connect, QMAXSIGN must be greater than 3 and less than *NOMAX. I was told this problem will be fixed in the next release of OS/400, V4R5. > -----Original Message----- > From: Diana Hicks > Sent: Thursday, November 04, 1999 2:27 PM > To: 'Midrange-L submission' > Subject: NetServer: Accessing files with unmatched passwords > > We have V4R3 OS/400, V4R4 Client Access Express and Windows 98 installed. > When the password on the AS/400 does not match windows, I receive a Enter > Network Password window (You must supply a password to make this > connection) with a password prompt.
