Good morning, all. Please forgive me if this has already been asked, but I can't seem to get to the archive this morning. (David?) We, like most shops, I presume, have some users who neglect to terminate their TN5250 sessions at the end of the day. Consequently, promotion of objects to production occasionally fails because a file is locked by one of their sessions. This weekend, we changed the TELNET attributes INACTTIMO and TIMMRKTIMO. Unfortunately, they were set incorrectly and started timing out people after 10 minutes of inactivity (600 seconds), instead of the intended 100 minutes (6000 seconds.) What a difference a zero can make! <g> To alleviate some of the consternation of our users, the ops manager brought down the services and changes the attributes back to their original settings (instead of changing them to the correct values {don't get me started...}). Anyway, my question is, can these values be changed on the fly, without brining down telnet services? We currently change the QINACTITV system value on the fly in the evening to drop inactive green screens, and would like to be able to do the same thing to telnet sessions.
