Just .02 I've tried several times to include subfile scrollbars and menu bars in my apps and enhancements, and have always had to remove them. The business analysts claim "the users will get confused unless we make the screens look like what they're used to seeing." Out with the new, in with the old. That's their motto. I understand the need for consistency, especially in legacy apps, but with this kind of thinking, we'll never get out of the 80's..... eric.delong@pmsi-services.com ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: ok, I made a green screen with radio buttons Author: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> at INET_WACO Date: 11/2/99 12:37 PM boothm@earth.goddard.edu wrote: > > I just made a simple little application. Here's the salient features: My faith is renewed in this group... In the original ranting and raving I did, my complaint was that programmers were unable or unwilling to try the features and functions that we all have had for a number of years. It would appear that a simple conversation has at least made a difference in the way a few folks felt. If we ALL were more willing to try these functions, a lot of our older applications would sure look a lot better to the users... This little discussion has apparently had some real benefits.. I applaud everybody who tries !!!!!! +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
