Hello folks:

It has been a while for me to asking the list for help and please forgive me
if I ask the wrong questions or offend anybody.

Please allow me to refresh the list's memory about me. I am very, very new
with the AS/400. I did get a lot of tips from the list of where to start
with learning about the AS/400. I entered in the AS/400 world for almost a
year now, and have learn somewhat to get my job done. I am creating a
database using Microsoft product, automate and retrieve up-to-date data
directly from the AS/400 files through the use of ODBC linking. I am
somewhat successful in several small databases, BUT, I have the problem with
retrieving a big junk of record for the company database.

The volume of data is growing every day, so of course, eventually what
volumne I get for this week will be different than last week. But the past
week and the weeks before that, the retrieving process would take no longer
than 5 minutes, but today it takes hours and have not retrieve the
information out of the AS/400 yet. I used ODBC link to the AS/400 files,
then use PC queries to filter the data that I need and put it in a temp
files.

I am still somewhat a new comer to these territory. I am very grateful for
any advise, suggestions or tips to show me lights to my problems.

Greatly appreciated, Vuong.
