Hmm, let me have a vague shot at this.

One of our engineers wrestled with this.

If I remember correctly (and this is from a computer room conversation) he
IPL'ed the machine manually and when the initial signon display came up
(the one you usually use to go into DST) he entered all 1's I think *blonde
look*

This allowed him to set some console settings that fixed the system looking
for a twinax console instead of a PC console. He made some changes (which I
can't recall) to fix what the system was looking for.

Hope this helps or jogs someone elses memory.
