We did the CISC to RISC migration of expEDIte/400 in early 1997. I don't recall
any problems, but it's been some time.... We followed the "roadmap" such as it
was
in '97. We still have the application on our system but quit using it over a
year ago..

We used it to send/receive data to the federal gov't. An IBM network was used
for intermediate storage of data to be exchanged. For example, the fed's would
place transactions to us on the IBM network on a regular schedule. Our staff
would use
expEDIte to retrieve these records at once a week or whatever they wanted. The
product was easy to interface to our system, and our staff used it with little
support
needed from IT. The fed's changed contractors and we now use an internet based
system.
