I love our 3570!  Speedy isn't the word for it...more like lightning fast!

I haven't tried the off-line tape-to-tape copy yet though.

My suggestion would be to pick it up.  Face it, anything would be better
than that old 8mm drive (including a slab of stone and a chisel)!

I have the opportunity to buy a used 3570 stand alone 2-drive tape
subsystem qualified for IBM maint.

Those of you with experience on these, how are they?  Reliable? 
Speedy?  Does the offline tape-to-tape copy work well?

This would really be a step up from our 8mm.
