Be careful about sorting.  We have customers that migrated from the S/390 to
AS/400.   Reports that worked correctly on the S/390 were not correct on the
AS/400 because of the way duplicate sort keys were handled.  Basically the
S/390 randomly placed the duplicate records into the sorted output.  The
AS/400 typically placed the records in first-in/first-out order, but not
always.

Stranger than fiction, but who are we to question why?????

By memory, 370/390/3090/(all that big behemoth shit) uses different
conventions for the signed half byte in packed data.  The AS/400 interprets
this correctly, and updates it when handling any specific field.

Math, sorting, etc. all works correctly.

Be careful.  These systems are highly tolerant of decimal data errors, and
the AS/400 is not.
