Yes you can script FTP on the AS400. What I have not been able to do, nor
given much effort, is capturing the FTP responses and handling the flow
according. The simple batch way is to:
PGM PARM(&RMTSYS &FTPSRCMBR)
DCL VAR(&RMTSYS ) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(20)
DCL VAR(&FTPSRCMBR) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(10)
CLRPFM FILE(FTPSRC) MBR(FTPOUT)
OVRDBF FILE(INPUT) TOFILE(FTPSRC) MBR(&FTPSRCMBR)
OVRDBF FILE(OUTPUT) TOFILE(FTPSRC) MBR(FTPOUT)
FTP RMTSYS(&RMTSYS)
PRTSRC FILE(FTPSRC) MEMBER(FTPOUT)
ENDPGM
The file FTPSRC is a source PF. Its members contain the script to logon,
put or get a file. This is quick and dirty. I suppose some one else has
done this with full line by line processing.

Oh, dang, not the answer I expected at all. I already knew about
PC FTP scripting. I was hoping I could script the FTP client on the
AS400 side.
I dont have the FTP service up on theAS400 and really don't want to
have to bring it up. I was hoping that the FTP client on the AS400 had
scripting capabilities, so I could FTP to an NT FTP server.
Thanks for your timely response,
Jim Langston
