Larry,

The problem is not the database....it is on the screen.

In the Windows world, this is not a problem.  Text Box's will let you 
enter more than can be displayed.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to handle this in the AS/400 
green screen world?

 The longest email address that I know of is:

 this.space.intentially.left.blank@worldnet.att.net   (Yes I actually
know this guy!)

 32 chars is not enough but 64 SHOULD be Plenty.  Why not use a
variable length field?
