We have had similar problems, the time out that Bill Paris talked about
could be
the TCP/IP time out but I think the is talking about the one on the printer
configuration menu on the printer, we have ours set on 300 below is what my
partner has found so far for her problems-EDS

There are several PTFs for the printing problems.   Refer to SF57799 PTF for
V4R2, SF57221 for V3R2, MF21681 for V4R2, MF22309 for V3R2, SF53567 for
V3R2.  
These are just the some I have for these releases.   There are others and
the
same for the other releases.   

I have also noticed that some switches and routers within infrastructures
don't
support "SNA".  The LLC connectivity works OK but the SNA data packets
dropped
for no apparent reason.    I will forward the outcome of my investigation to
resolve this issue with our company.   tt
