I've been running my Electronics (computers, stereo, TVs) thru ZeroSurge
brand surge protectors for the past 4-5 years.  I've had no problems with
power glitches frying equipment.  They're about $200; somewhat more than
the 'power strip' variety, but they are allegedly more reliable (according
to their literature).

They seem to be selling under at least 3 brand names these days:
