I've been running my Electronics (computers, stereo, TVs) thru ZeroSurge brand surge protectors for the past 4-5 years. I've had no problems with power glitches frying equipment. They're about $200; somewhat more than the 'power strip' variety, but they are allegedly more reliable (according to their literature). They seem to be selling under at least 3 brand names these days: www.zerosurge.com www.brickwall.com www.surgex.com --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com >This reminds me of a problem I havent resolved yet.... > >I want to protect my 150s and modems from surges, spikes and lightning >strikes, especially down the telephone wires. > >I cant justify UPSs to keep the machines up, so I'm looking to know whether >the smallest UPS (300VA - whatever that means), would provide protection. > >How can I prevent lightning strikes from travelling down to the modems and >then to the AS400?
