It's just like using the QIC2DC-format on a 150'er. Are you planning for a
total disaster and restablishment on a totally new box?

I would start using it for daily backup, and then look for a good overview over
tape formats across the product line. I've never
found such though.

Emne: Question on Save Command(s) paremeter USEOPTBLK
Dato: 4. august 1999 15:25

Hi Folks !

On the various save commands there is a parameter USEOPTBLK (Use optimum
block) - "Performance may improve, but the tape volume that is created
is only compatible with a device that supports the block size used."
(per the help text).

IS that something to be concerned with ? We only have one tape drive
(the IBM 9427-210 Cartridge unit...) and any speed improvement would be
GREAT !

Thanks !

Chuck
