You have a problem here. If you use TESTN, it will identify certain
alphabets also as numeric. This is because the system stores the  negative
sign as an alphabet. So if your value is '123J'  TESTN will return it as
numeric.  You can check this by entering ( -1...to -9) to a physical file
and then use DSPPFM to view the file. The alphabets that you see in this
view if used at the end of a number, TESTN will return it as numeric.
