Basically as I understand it, the RS/6000 people and the Netfinity folks were complaining that the AS/400 was starting to take revenue from them. Now while I am an AS/400 bigot and don't see the need for any other architecture, we are a premier IBM business partner and we also sell RS/6000 and Netfinity solutions, so... at least I can see the up side to the decision, albeit a small one. But I agree with Al Barsa and a few of the rest of you, of the stupidity of that decision.
