Yes you can run CA over the ASCII WSC, but it is pretty slow. Over the ASCII WSC you can do either CA or emulate an ASCII device such as an IBM 3164 terminal. There is a product from PSI international (www.psi3164.com) that works fairly well and eliminate the keyboard mapping issue that is usually associated with emulating ASCII devices. A better solution would be to do dial up TCP/IP, you can do either PPP or SLIP to a V.24 comm port (like your ECS line) or use some sort of RAS server. Let me know if you would like more details.
