Karl We are using Domino on a 170. The email is working very well. We are using Client Access for emulation, but a bonus was the fact that they gave us a notes mail client for all our client access users. I haven't tried the express client yet, but plan to. We are using Notes Pump -(It has a new name now - LEI) to pump data to a field sales prospect system. With the Domino system 4.63 you get DECS free which is the Interactive part of notes pump. Domino isn't the best word processor - formating reports leaves something to be desired. Depends what your users need to do. It is a great communication vehicle though if you don't need formal reports or just pass it on the screen. What else are you running on the AS/400? If they are going to run green screen app's they will need some type of emulation. > We have just installed a new 720 with V4R3. > We have all twinax attached green screens. > Now we are charged with putting everyone on a network with email and we > need a new word processor. > Our choice: Domino with Lotus Notes. > Our question: Is anyone running it native on AS400? How is it? How do you > get the emulation? Do you need client access? How do you get data from as400 > file into Notes documents (LEI,Notes pump)? If so do you need client access? > If we do need client access why not express client? > > We have a notes/domino/network vendor who is recommending client access. All > the books and stuff we read makes no mention of client access. > Carole A.
