Back in 1982 when we at PAE designed the first dynamic tunning system, Charlie the Tuner, people believed that we were nuts. How can a program tune the system better that a human. Now 17 years later and 4,500 clients later people are realizing that dynamic tuning is the way to go. The other day at the Rochester airport, I ran into John Sears. He said to me, aren't you Charlie Tuner. While my name is not that I said "yes". He said, "Boy was I wrong when I said that tuning could not be done by a computer." IBM was the biggest downer of poor Charlie, then they copied Charlie's ideas. Peter H.
