Transfer from AS/400 to AS/400 will be slower if you leave it in the default ASCII mode as there is an unnecessary conversion from EBCDIC to ASCII and back to EBCDIC. Use the EBCDIC command before the GET or PUT. For a minute I thought this might be a contributing factor to Bryan's problem (though not enough to account for the pathetic rate he was getting) but then I noticed he was transferring a save file. The system will not let you proceed with a save file transfer in ASCII mode so this won't be a factor in Bryan's case.
