Hello Ken,

Of course IBM have more than 23 NT servers. Partly due to NT's inability to
run more than one server
reliably, partly due to poor scalability, but mostly due to stupidity on IBM's
part -- they should be taking a
leaf from Sun's book. But mostly all the NT servers are doing is print
serving, e-mail, remote access, and
all those other things that aren't really mission critical.

And before another flame war starts -- I realise that users can perceive the
above mentioned items as mission
critical (and there are isolated instances of dependencies on printing or
e-mail) but in the grand scheme of
things they aren't. The business will GENERALLY not fail if printing stops, or
e-mail dies. Losing those
things is little more than an inconvenience.

You can bet IBM's BUSINESS doesn't run on NT -- that's still pretty much tied
to MVS. (Although in retrospect
since IBM is tying so much of its service and software to NT maybe its business
does run on NT -- Urggh! what
a thought .... going to puke now ....)

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
