I have done this many times: FTP a save file to my PC, Zip it, Email or
put it on our web site, UnZip it, FTP to the target AS/400.

Works VERY well.  If your target PC is locking up, then there is
something wrong with that PC and has nothing to do with the AS/400 save
file.

Do make sure that the target PC is running the correct version of
PKUNZIP or WinZip.  I usually avoid this by sending a self extracting
Zip.  Makes it a tiny bit larger, but fewer hassles.
