I ran into this problem before when two identical IBM autosync modems
behaved differently, (7858 ? I think?). We found that they were produced at
different times and had different firmware, (IBM Italy). Also check for the
latest drivers, autosync drivers, they have always been very tricky to write
and support.

Good luck,

Subject: Hayes autosync, APPC ctl, IBM 7855 modem settings

I have a customer using a Hayes autosync modem dialing into an APPC
ctlr on
the AS400 with the NSrouter-32. The AS/400 has an IBM 7855 modem.
Of 6
AS400's with identical line, ctl descriptions 2 do not work
correctly. It
seems to be the modems on the AS400 (identical). Are there switch
settings
we can verify on the 7855?

        Thanks in advance,

        Jerry
