Hayes autosync, APPC ctl, IBM 7855 modem settings -- MIDRANGE-L

I have a customer using a Hayes autosync modem dialing into an APPC ctlr on
the AS400 with the NSrouter-32.  The AS/400 has an IBM 7855 modem.  Of 6
AS400's with identical line, ctl descriptions 2 do not work correctly.  It
seems to be the modems on the AS400 (identical).  Are there switch settings
we can verify on the 7855?
