Scott, You have gotten a TON of great advice. I've been where you are several times in the past ! One thing I would add is to check for files that need to be reorganized ! SOME 3rd party vendors (and usually the ones that create multiple million record files and are constantly deleting out of them...) have files with deleted record counts that would BLOW your mind ! We actually had 7-8 million record files with 5 or 6 active records in them !!! I wrote a series of programs several years ago that would check files in all libraries for this and produce a list. Also check for unneeded PTF SAVF's and also permanently apply PTF's !!! Exactly what box are you on, what model drives and what OS version ? Good luck !
