Hi all, perhaps you remember this thread about dialing into an AS/400 using a PCMCIA autosync modem. Well, I finally got the laptop & the Hayes optima 33.6 modem, and it isn't working at all. The netsoft dialer reports 'Modem does not support AutoSync'. Ouch. Steve, or anyone who has this working, can you check the numbers on the backside of your hayes pcmcia card & tell me which model you have please? Mine says: 'Optima 336/56k Upgradeable', with model number 4715US on the back. The hayes windows inf file lists several: Hayes-Optima 56K PC Card Hayes-Optima 336 Flash PC Card 4715US Hayes-Optima 336 Flash PC Card 4716US Hayes-Optima 56K PC Card 4700US Hayes-Optima 56K PC Card 4710US Also, does anyone know of a reliable autosync pcmcia modem other than Hayes? I wasn't particularly happy opening the box and finding no manual! > At 04:59 PM 12/3/98 -0600, you wrote: > > Make sure you get the Hayes Optima 33.6 PCMCIA modem NOT the 56KB. > I use the 33.6 PCMCIA quite regularly using AutoSync & Netsoft and works > great! > -- > Steven Sharpe -- steven_sharpe@bigfoot.com > Sharpe Consulting -- sharpeconsulting@hotmail.com -- (912) 328-9066 > AS/400 Consulting Regards, Rich ============================================ Rich Duzenbury http://rich.dyn.ml.org http://vpsolutions.com ============================================ +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
